Floating frames can help create a more 'finished' look to the painting by adding your choice of colour and type frame to match your decor.
Floating Frames are frames used for Canvas Art which are added at the end, once the canvas is already stretched on the wooden frame. They are mounted from the rear so they sit around the edges of the canvas, leaving a small gap between the frame and the canvas usually just 5 to 10mm.
This gives them the appearance of floating, hence the name 'Floating Frame'.
From the front the frame appears thin, but is deep enough on the sides to accommodate stretched canvases and hide the side of the canvas.
Floating frames add a much more aesthetically pleasing look to your canvas than having them mounted on a frame with annoying glass reflections, which take away from the authentic look and feel of the canvas.
Because of their simplicity, floating frames don’t vie for the attention of the artwork, and they fit in beautifully with most decors.
Another great benefit of a floating frame is the ability to choose the frame colour that best accentuates the artwork or complements your decor, further tying it into the rest of your space.
This is why we choose to use them on most of our canvas paintings.
Why not have a look to see which wall art will look great in your space, in our Wall Art Collection.
